Gifted and Talented students require an advanced programme which develops their thinking ability. The Alpha Educational Consultancy Ltd has created a range of studies which focus on the development of advanced thinking skills. This programme has been created to develop the learning potential of gifted students beyond the restrictions of current provision. Gifted students are natural learners but all too often their strong desire to learn diminishes when they fail to find sufficient challenge. The Alpha Educational Consultancy Ltd devised the Fast Forward Model of Learning which encourages young digital natives to think globally and to become the entrepreneurs, environmental guardians and change catalysts of the 21st Century.

What does Alpha Plus offer?

How do you teach Social and Emotional Literacy?
The Brain Licence Programme was created by Frances Hill, the founder of The Alpha Educational Consultancy Ltd, to teach metacognitive, emotional and social literacy skills to students in primary school as they progress through the three stages of the Brain Licence Programme.
Skills taught include the intrapersonal skills of self-knowledge and emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills which enhance social confidence and encourage relationship building. Students who possess these skills are well equipped to handle the stresses of asynchronous development which so often plague gifted students.
The Brain Licence also teaches gifted young students how their brains work. An appreciation of neuroscience relieves the tension which many gifted young learners experience when their fast processing skill sets them apart from their peers. It also encourages a sense of trust in self. Without this sense, all growth is compromised.
Gifted students are notoriously disorganised. The intensity of their thought processes often leads to ‘monkey mind’ as they jump from one idea to the next. This section of the Brain Licence equips students with the skills to manage their fast-processing brains in a way which leads to task completion and a sense of achievement. The study skills section focusses on organisational skills and productivity. It encourages goal setting, time management and self-efficacy.

How do I enrol my child in the Alpha Plus Extension Programme?
Year One
Applications are now open for the Alpha Plus Extension Programme Level One.
You can complete your registration for a Half Term Taster at ENROL. The Half Term Taster will give you access to Orientation Week and the first two Study Units, comprising 5 weeks of study. This Half Term Taster is offered at a reduced price.
Years Two to Four
These levels of the course cover the ages 8 to 14 and will be available soon. You are invited to register your interest for these courses by emailing admin@alphaed.co.nz

The Alpha Plus Gold Programme is subject to demand in the United Kingdom. This programme includes entry into the Alpha Digital Classroom, where students can meet with their gifted peers to enjoy discussion and collaboration. Teachers, trained by The Alpha Educational Consultancy Ltd in the provision of programmes for gifted students, facilitate discussions and pose stimulating intellectual challenges.
Tutorial duration ranges from 40 minutes for younger students to an hour for older students. Young gifted learners have the opportunity to share their completed presentations with each other. Classes are limited to one teacher per ten students.
